A one-woman, one-act stage play with live music, LA DIVINA is Minnesota Concert Opera’s first new works commission.
The life of iconic opera star Maria Callas was as dramatic as the roles she played onstage. In this intimate drama, playwright Antonia Felix presents Callas the woman, artist, and restless soul.
Maria Callas was the original diva, the glamorous world-renowned celebrity who brought dramatic acting to the opera stage and changed the art form forever. She made headlines for her larger-than-life artistic and personal passions, including her love affair with Greek tycoon Aristotle Onassis, who broke off their relationship to marry the widowed Jackie Kennedy.
